THE GOAL

Increase sponsorship efficiency and drive product trials

Koia, a fast-growing plant-based CPG beverage company, wanted to streamline the sponsorship process and drive product trials through socially distant sponsorship activations. 

In the past, sponsorships required manually coordinating multiple logistical requirements, which was time-consuming and limited the number of events the brand participated in. “Discovering available sampling opportunities across the nation, especially with COVID,” was the most challenging part of the sponsorship process, said Makenna Frahman, National Field & Trade Marketing Manager. 

Recess was tasked with helping Koia streamline its event marketing and sampling activations through its end-to-end sponsorship management platform.

THE STRATEGY

Implement a turn-key sampling activation at a local tentpole event

Using Recess’ centralized sponsorship platform, Koia sourced event opportunities and executed a socially distant sampling activation at the WonderLAnd Holiday-Themed Drive-Thru in Woodland Hills, California, a key market for the brand.  Sample bottles were distributed to event attendees by event organizers, which removed the need for dedicated Koia staff on-site.
